Mode of action
Dextromethorphan HBr
- An antitussive (cough suppressant) drug
- Acts via multiple effects, including actions as a nonselective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and asigma-1 receptor agonist Chlorpheniramine Maleate
- A first-generation alkylamine antihistamine
- Used in the prevention of the symptoms of allergic conditions like rhinitis

- Cough
- Nasal and sinus congestion
- Rhinorrhoea

Dose
- Adults and Children above 12 yrs of age: 1-2 teaspoonful 3-4 times daily
- Children 6-12 yrs of age: 1 teaspoon 3-4 times daily
- Children 2-6 yrs of age: ½ teaspoon 3-4 times daily
- Children below 2 yrs: as directed by physician
