Mode of action
Dextromethorphan HBr
- An antitussive (cough suppressant) drug
- Acts via multiple effects, including actions as a nonselective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and asigma-1 receptor agonist Chlorpheniramine Maleate
- A first-generation alkylamine antihistamine
- Used in the prevention of the symptoms of allergic conditions like rhinitis
Phenylephrine HCI
- A decongestant
- A selective a1-adrenergic receptor agonist
- Stimulates postsynaptic alpha-receptors, resulting in vasoconstriction which reduces nasal congestion.
Pheniramine malate
- an antihistamine with anticholinergic properties used to treat allergic conditions
