Mode of action
- Lubtear DS acts as Ophthalmic Demulcent.
- Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (Carmellose sodium) is a water soluble polymer, which is applied topically to the eye to protect and lubricate mucous membranes.
- Sodium carboxymethylcellulose (Carmellose sodium) is an ionic polymer containing carboxy and hydroxyl groups, its chemical structure is similar to mucin in the tear film, and thus it has much adhesive properties.
- These properties promote prolonged residence time in the eye which alleviate the symptoms of tear deficiency.

Indication
Lubtear DS is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
* Eye discomfort due to dryness
* Eye irritation
* Burning of eyes etc. -
Dose
Instill 1-2 drop thrice daily or directed by the Physician.
