Opsol

Chlorobutanol 5 mg + Polyvinyl Alcohol 14 mg + Povidone 6 mg
  • Mode of action

Chlorobutanol: used as a preservative agent in artificial tears, where it has been documented to cause significant keratitis and irritation to the ocular surface. It acts cell lysis by way of disruption of microbial cell membrane lipid configuration.
Polyvinyl alcohol: known as ‘artificial tears’. They are used to relieve eye dryness and soreness, particularly where the dryness is caused by a reduced flow of tears. They moisten, soothe and lubricate the surface of your eye, making it feel more comfortable.
Povidone: It provides dry eye therapy that moisturizes, comforts, and protects against further irritation. Povidone, a demulcent which forms a lubricating, protective layer that retains moisture on the surface of the eye and in essence helps the formulation to supplement aqueous layer of the tear film.
