Mode of action
It is fourth generation synthetic fluoroquinolone and bacteriocidal in nature. It acts by inhibiting the enzyme bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase Iv, prevents the excessive supercoiling of DNA during the replication or transcription. Finally, inhibit their function and thereby inhibiting the bacterial cell division.
